Company history
ValidateLabs was officially launched in 2024 after successfully being awarded funding and a place on the esteemed UKRI (Research England) business accelerator, VentureVersity.
Previous funding awards had been used to develop the workings of the Validation Processor between 2022-2024.
Meet our talented team
Dr Dan Lane
Dr Lane (founder and creator) has a BSc in Biochemistry and a PhD in Health Science Research that was primarily focused on the development, validation, and translation of mass spectrometry assays into routine clinical use.
He has worked in NHS chemical pathology laboratories, and currently holds a post-doctoral research associate position in the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Leicester.
Borislav Lazarov
Borislav (a.k.a. Boris) is an analytical chemistry specialist with an MSc in Organic Chemistry and nearly a decade of experience across food, environmental, and toxicological laboratories. Currently, he focuses on developing and validating toxicological assays for clinical and post-mortem applications.
He has a strong interest in data analysis, leveraging Python, R, and SQL, and is expanding his expertise in statistical models, with a recent focus on Design of Experiments (DOE).
Dr Chris Harrington
Dr Chris Harrington has a PhD (Bristol) in Analytical Science and an MSc (UCL) in Clinical Biochemistry. He has over 30 years experience in analytical measurements and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) and a European Specialist in Laboratory Medicine (EuSpLM).
He has published widely in the area of measurement science with over 200 published research works including 90 peer-reviewed research papers. He is also HCPC registered as a Clinical Scientist and most recently has completed training as a UKAS Technical Assessor for the medical laboratory standard (ISO 15189).
Ben Rawson
With over 20 years of experience, Ben Rawson specialises in providing operational support for SMEs, particularly within the creative, digital, and tech sectors.
Leveraging a background in data analytics and marketing, Ben works across all facets of business development, from building teams and crafting business plans to devising innovative growth strategies. His “think outside the box” approach ensures unique and effective solutions to the everyday challenges that businesses face.
